I've been reading for quite a while now, and it really covers a lot of the basics. It taught me a lot.

Go to a second hand book store and buy a good book on hypnosis and self-suggestion. There's also a lot of good content on the internet.
the simplest way is to have a good hypnotist hypnotize you one or two times along with a post hypnotic suggestion that you can hypnotize yourself with a procedure of the hypnotist's choice and then practice it for a few days. It will work like a charm.
