Can self-hypnosis really help change limiting beliefs?
Master Sculptor asked:
I took a seminar on hypnosis a while back but have yet to commit to trying it on myself fully. I have a feeling I may be resisting this sub consciously(go figure!). I know it can work when done with a "client", especially since there's so much trust involved, but can it really alter deep subconscious misconceptions in oneself? Has anyone had any success hypnotizing yourself to facilitate profound changes in limiting beliefs and life long paradigms?

Yes.
I speak as a fully qualified hypnotherapist. I had 3 strokes in a year, through this i became depressed.
With all my knowledge I pass on to my clients, i helped myself and stayed medication free. Still am.

No question about it. It can certainly help you. The mistake many people make is in try to choose one single thing to work on, such as a phobia or a specific belief, such as "I always sabotage myself!".
Well, actually the best way to approach this is to set up a healthy foundation, not just looking at the belief itself, but also addressing such things as diet, sleep and exercise. Health is not a singular dimension issue. You need to return to fundamentals, then build on them. Before very long you'll find you develop your own solution to the self limiting beliefs. Try looking at the tips here, on Vancouver Hypnotherapies site:
Good luck, you may find this is easier than you think.
you need to start running 2 to 3 miles a day
eat fish oil pills
tell yourself postive things
and just start having fun and doing new things, and everything will be alright
Im not sure how Rex has become a top contributor with answers like that! Running and fish oil have nothing to do with the question asked!
I believe that hypnotherapy can make profound change possible. I hypnotise myself very regularly which allows me to be in the right frame of mind to help myself achieve the things I desire and also to help my clients reach the things they desire.
Give it a try on yourself. Write your own script (ideally), record it and listen to it when you wont be disturbed. You can have total faith in what you are doing because you recorded it so you know exactly what is going to happen.
Go for it and enjoy discovering how much better you can feel about yourself
Hypnosis works.
Anything you have learn-ed as a known can be unlearn-ed and replaced with something more useful.
